My Insta360 captured 4 hours of real dance floor footage from a Hmong wedding and I broke it down into a 1-hour mix to show what actually goes into a night like this.
Most American weddings: ~2–3 hours of dancing
Hmong / Asian weddings: 4–5 hours… EASY 😅
That changes everything.
It’s not just about “playing good music”—it’s about:
✔️ Pacing the energy for a marathon, not a sprint
✔️ Honoring elders early and keeping them involved all night
✔️ Building the night around the couple’s story—not the DJ’s ego
The first hour is intentional.
The transitions are intentional.
The cultural balance is intentional.
This is what it looks like when you truly DJ for the people in the room.
If you’re planning a wedding and want a packed dancefloor without losing the cultural roots, this is exactly what we do.
Love People. Love Music.

Sing & Jennifer
We had such a blast celebrating Sing and Jennifer's special day at the Crystal Ballroom Charlotte location! The bride and groom requested a wonderful mix of R&B classics throughout cocktail hour, cultural songs mixed in for dinner, and only the best dance songs for the open dancing portion of the night! We provided our Diamond Package setup to match the luxurious elegance of the venue layout and design by Taylor Anne and her incredible team!
Congratulations Sing and Jennifer!
Michael & Madi
I first met this wonderful couple over some delicious hops and conversation just flowed so naturally. Madi and Michael began their love story as high school sweet hearts, but Madi went away to college and Michael joined the local fire department. Upon her return from her undergraduate studies, they reunited and rekindled their love for each other.
This adventurous couple loved to travel and followed their favorite baseball team, the LA Dodgers, to different cities while always in search of good grub and great local brews. They enjoyed a variety of music from country to hip hop and truly surprised me when Madi told me how Michael was currently obsessed with a reggaeton song that I happened to play all the time on my Spotify playlist. After sharing their favorite songs and artists with me, I just knew their wedding reception would be an epic celebration! But they weren't quite finished...
Michael requested the Chicago Bulls Theme song for a high energy grand entrance along with a flip cup world championship match between Team Michael and Team Madi. They were full of incredible ideas that blew me away! I was happy to oblige and so were all of the wedding guests on their special day. It was an unforgettable celebration and I am honored to have been a part of it!
Thank you for entrusting Events By Lor with your wedding day entertainment and thank you for your continued service to our community, Michael. Congratulations Michael and Madi!
