Chong has always had a love for music. From skimming the vinyl records in every city visited, to attending concerts of local to international artists, he has always embraced the beauty in all genres of music. He began his career mixing it up at local bars and clubs on Dickson Street at the University of Arkansas. Chong continued to evolve his craft, which has now led to over 15 years as a DJ Entertainer and 10 years as a Master of Ceremonies. Chong has truly enjoyed collaborating with hundreds of happy clients over the past decade and a half. While he specializes in providing DJ and Master of Ceremonies services for weddings, Chong has hosted a variety of corporate events, private parties and teen events. He also volunteers his services towards community events and fundraisers that he feels passionate about including Kicks For Clots, Lo-Pha Scholarship Foundation, Hagar’s Place, and the North Carolina Asian Golf Association.
Mai Ku joins the Events by Lor team as our Office Manager. She has always been a meticulous planner and prides herself in her ability to be present with her clients while engaging in active listening and creative problem-solving. Mai Ku has a diverse background in project development and an impressive track record of successful events of all magnitudes, both personally and professionally, including her own 600+ guest wedding in 2017. Having experienced great success with a variety of vendor services, Mai Ku aspires to help couples achieve their vision for wedding entertainment through support and navigation of our services. She also loves to join Chong as his wonderful DJ + Light Show assistant when needed for larger set ups such as the Diamond Package, Proms, and Corporate events. Mai Ku is diligent with her skillful set ups and thoroughly enjoys seeing guests dancing along to the music and lighting enhancements.
Chong and Mai Ku have always been true hosts at heart. With Chong’s background in hospitality and Mai Ku’s work in healthcare, both individuals have always taken it upon themselves to care for others and find great reward in bringing others joy. They love hosting cookouts, dinner parties, holiday events and karaoke nights because well... life is a celebration! For the Lors, it’s all about creating wonderful memories with awesome people. They make strangers feel like friends, and friends feel like family. With their combined talents, they look forward to working with you and helping to make your special event an unforgettable one!
